Topic: How can worksite health promotion translate into organizational effectiveness? By broadening the scope to create a culture of well-being, safety and employee engagement. High performing organizations recognize the value of their human capital and invest in their employees to build on their strengths. Typical approaches to wellness programs are short-sighted and not enough to have long-term success; health is only a fraction of a bigger, more complex picture of what impacts organizations. Increased well-being and engagement result from supporting individual intrinsic values and creating a culture that supports employee growth and development. This session will provide a framework for focusing on organizational well-being as a means to individual well-being.

Participants will be able to:

1.  Understand what impacts productivity and engagement at work.
2.  Describe attributes of engagement and disengagement within organizations and strategies to build higher levels of engagement by focusing on strengths.
3. Identify strategies for understanding and supporting individual intrinsic values within an organization’s culture.
